Growth Champions
1Family-Owned Businesses

Sharing a mindset, providing guidance

Representing over 60% of all operating establishments with over $216 Billion in contribution to Saudi Arabia's GDP, family-owned businesses in the country represent some of the most well-respected and best-performing organizations in the Kingdom. From small local origins, many grow to an international scale and scope. Despite these intrinsic strengths and unique dynamics, conflict can arise when major decisions are required. Succession, profit sharing, expansion strategies or leadership appointments can be particular sources of discord. It takes a special skill set to help family-run businesses navigate change and leverage their inherent, vibrant qualities.

Amrop has been advising family businesses in Saudi Arabia for over 10 years and today they are an important part of our client portfolio. We have deep experience in the Saudi market providing guidance around leadership, transition and governance, creating, advising and evaluating boards. As entrepreneurs ourselves, we share your mindset and offer sensitive, in-depth professional guidance, with an objective eye.

We support family businesses in identifying and placing leaders who share the owners' motivations and values. Our expertise and insight cut across global and domestic markets, scale of organizations, business models, and growth stages.

2Public Sector and Government Organisations

Agile leadership for complex environments

With our exceptional network and strong local connections, Amrop brings talent solutions that help government institutions, regulatory bodies and publicly-owned companies to strengthen and enhance their performance.

We understand the specific set of competencies required for executives in the public sector. We recognize the demand for agile and forward-thinking leaders in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 who can deliver wide-ranging reforms and implement often unpopular change in complex and ambiguous environments.

3Publicly Listed Businesses

Inspiring leaders in changing times

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has experienced significant economic reforms in recent years and is continually developing at a rapid pace. Today’s companies need agile leaders who can adapt and adjust more than ever while maintaining resilience and vision. Leadership teams must strike a balance between navigating through obstacles placed by events out of their control and managing the expectations of their shareholders.

Today’s leaders know how to traverse key paradoxes that characterize wise leadership: shareholder vs. stakeholder expectations, ESG vs profit, short-term vs long-term, and health vs wealth. The very best CEOs and their teams pilot this fine line with skill. Finding leaders who can inspire and galvanize the workforce in both good and bad times is a top priority for companies, and streamlining the search for those companies is ours.

4Private Equity Companies

Investing in Investing

As part of the plan to grow the national economy, Saudi Arabia is promoting investment in the private equity sector. In 2019, Saudi Arabia launched the Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (VCPEA). Established by the Council of Ministers, the VCPEA aims to enhance the development of the private equity and venture capital sectors. It is also mandated to cultivate cooperation between businesses and private equity companies in the Kingdom.

In an increasingly growing market, private equity firms need talented individuals to help their portfolios grow and flourish. We work with private equity companies to find and develop executives who conform to the unique set of skills and know-how necessary to lead in the sector. We acknowledge the need for entrepreneurial and inspiring leaders in line with the Kingdom’s vision to establish a competitive ecosystem for innovation and growth. Regardless of investment strategy, size or location, at Amrop we help private equity and venture capital companies attract the best general partners in the market for their firms, as well as identify top executives for their portfolio companies.

5Privately Owned Companies

A private sector-led economy

Given the new Vision 2030 governmental direction toward increased privatization in Saudi Arabia, the private sector's domination is expected to rise even more in the coming years. Privately owned companies will also face additional pressure and demand to operate at higher levels of efficiency and competitiveness, especially in the face of economic and labour market reform and increased foreign direct investment.

Our local expertise enables us to understand and appreciate Saudi’s privately owned companies’ unique needs and challenges. This understanding forms the basis of our context-driven approach, allowing us to integrate both the functional and cultural perspectives when advising our clients.
